I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be streamed live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair met personally to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former two time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
Despite these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Paul rather criticized former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, consistently making massive paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
